Online Classes - Streamed Live

All our classes are now online!  

All classes have now temporarily moved online meaning you can enjoy the benefits of a Pilates class from the comfort of your home.

What do I need?

You will need an Exercise mat and a couple of hand towels.  Pilates mats tend to be slightly thicker than yoga mats to give more comfort but this is not essential.

A device that can connect to the internet - this could be a computer, laptop, tablet or smart phone.  You will need to download Zoom to connect to the class (see information below).

Find a quiet location in your house so you can focus on the class and on your movements.   Place your device on a stable surface close enough for you to be able to see it whilst exercising.

Your weekly payment gives you access to all of the classes so you can stick to the one that suits you or attend them all!

Please aim to join ten minutes before so you can get connected and settled.

Online classes run in 6 to 8 week blocks but you can start at any time with a free two week taster.  

Each week costs £6.50 per person with access to all classes. 


What can I expect?

The Pilates exercises will include gentle stretches and strengthening exercises with suggestions as to how you can alter the position or difficulty level to suit you. 

If you have never joined a Pilates class online before don't fear. The technology should be straightforward and I'm on hand to help you if you have any problems.

You won't be doing your exercises in front of anyone else!  When you join the online session,  in the ten minutes before the class starts you can chat (audio or video) to the others in the class if you wish, or you can keep your audio and video off.  Once the class starts, I will turn everyone's video and audio feed off, until the end of the class.   This way you can focus on the exercises, on your movement and on your breathing without distraction.


How can I join?

I will send you my Health & Registration Form to complete and return.  If you have any health concerns I am happy to discuss these with you before your first class.

You will receive a link and password by email inviting you to join the Zoom meeting.  

If you haven't used Zoom before you will need to download it to your device before your first class (see below).

Ten minutes before your class begins simply click on the link to enter the meeting and type in the password when prompted.

You should then be connected and ready to exercise!

What equipment do I need?

In our face to face classes we use all sorts of equipment, but to keep the online classes as accessible as possible, I will keep things simple!


Downloading and Installing Zoom 

I will be using Zoom video conferencing for all online Pilates classes. You will need to download this before your first class if you haven't used it before.
  • If you are using a computer you can click on the link sent in your introductory email and then follow the instructions.
  • If you are using a smartphone or tablet, please download the Zoom Cloud Meetings app beforehand. 
  • After you book your Pilates class you will receive an email with a link to the next class.
  • Ensure your computer, smartphone, or tablet is charged or plugged into a power source prior to the class starting. 

Technical Tips

If you are having trouble accessing  Zoom please try the following: 

  • Go to https://zoom.us  Select ‘Join a Meeting’ - Enter the meeting ID and Password from your Zoom email invitation when prompted.  
  • If you are using a PC or laptop, check if you have the most updated browser downloaded.  
  • If you are using WiFi, and if someone else is streaming videos or films, this might affect your Zoom experience.  
  • Place your laptop or device as close to the wireless router as possible or plug your computer directly into an ethernet cable rather than using WiFi.  
    Additional Tips  
    Computer 
    When you get your Zoom link from Pilates for Living, simply click the link 10 minutes before your call and you will be prompted to download a plugin if you have never used Zoom.   
    Tablet or Smartphone: 
    In order to join your Zoom call from your tablet or smartphone, you will first need to download the Zoom app from the Apple App or Google Play store.
